Ofsted and the Audit Commission recently published the report undertaken on their behalf by KPMG entitled “Evaluation of the manageability of the joint area review and corporate assessment process”. Ofsted have produced the criteria the annual performance assessments and joint area reviews.

The KPMG report identifies 4 key themes that stand out in their evaluation framework - namely:

The report examines evidence and identifies the difficulties that the Local Authorities, Health Authorities etc found in providing information to meet the two inspection regimes. There is particular emphasis on school performance reports and the management of evidence.
